“Unleash the beast” was The Husband’s reaction to this animal print outfit I dreamed up for this edition of the Magnificient 8 Collaboration. Truth be told, I was giddy when we all agreed on the theme of animal print because I’d been dying to try out a multi-item, multi-colored version like you see in these photos. I already had all of the pieces to put together this outfit so nothing was bought specifically for this post.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you may recall a Last Week This Week post from March 2018 where I wore a different leopard print item each day and each print had a different background color. Who says that an animal print has to be true to nature?
Oh, what was I thinking? Perhaps I need to write a Dr Suess like story …
one leopard, two leopard, red leopard, blue leopard.
Black leopard, blue leopard, old leopard, new leopard.
Nah, that doesn’t seem to have the right flow. I’ll work on it. Maybe.
How many animal print items are there in this ensemble? Seven in all; coat, cardigan, dress, skirt (worn over dress), scarf worn as a belt, boots, and scarf worn as a headband. The faux-fur coat I’ve had the longest, over 25 years at least but probably closer to 30. The Husband thinks I bought it after we met and I know it must have been before we had our first child. The cardigan is the most recent purchase. It and the dress were bought at that famous military clothing store that’s in nearly every mall. The skirt was a thrift store find.
Silver, tan, blue, purple, red, ochre … not quite the hues of the rainbow but they make for a colorful mix. And a layering of pearls to class it up a bit.
This is the sixth edition of the Magnificent 8 Collaboration. The previous ones were; Life’s A Beach, Distressed, Workout Wear, Spring Pattern Mixing, and White Dress. Have you visited any of the other Magnificent 8 gals yet and seen their spins on the theme of Animal Print? In case you haven’t, let me show you the way.
The intent of the Magnificent 8 is to show that there are no age restrictions on style. So wear what you want, when you want, add a smile, and strut your style with confidence. And be sure to check out all 8 of these amazing gals! We are sharing these posts on a quarterly basis … be on the lookout in January for the next post in this series.
