Last Week This Week is a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.
Besides my brainstorm, there were also rainstorms last week. Fortunately for the areas near me that were heavily hit during firestorms in the past year or so, the rain events have been coming in waves rather than overwhelming deluges. This slow roll has allowed the rains to soak in over time rather than create massive landslides although some areas have had mudflow problems. Even so, the hills are now a lovely shade of green and winter has extended its stay in SoCal.
Monday
At my day job, the period from October to March the busiest and as I’ve mentioned in the past, I often put in longer days during this timeframe. As evidence by the darkness on the other side of my windows, my week had started out with a late day. I’d anticipated that I would be staying late so my OOTD was one that would be comfortable for all day wear.
Tuesday
Layers for warmth and low-heeled footwear for comfort. I don’t want my movements or my state of mind to be inhibited by my clothing any longer.
Wednesday
Knowing that the days for wearing boots are drawing short, I paired up these tall beauties with my leopard print dress and black corduroy jacket.
Thursday
With another blustery day forecasted, I opted for thicker knits and my booties with the eye-catching design. Temps in the office were warmer than expected so I didn’t need to wear the coatigan much at all.
Friday
Originally I was to have the day off but a very important needed to occur that required my attendance. Fortunately, it was scheduled for early morning so I was still able to take 1/2 the day which is why it was daytime when these photos were taken. I opted for jeans as is my usual Friday MO but ones with a dark wash that I paired up with a plaid blazer.
And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week (actually the week before). How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.
After I got home Friday afternoon, I changed into a get-away outfit that wouldn’t have been quite right for work. I liked how it looked so much that I snapped a selfie as I headed out the door. And I liked the selfie so much that I’ve used it to update the profile image for my blog and IG account. The sunset in the feature image at the top of the post was the first one post the recent time change to DST.

Good to hear that the new green growth is doing it’s job covering and holding back the mud!
