It’s been colder than usual this winter here in SoCal.  According to the record keepers, the average temperature in Los Angeles this past February was the coldest since 1962.  Not one day did they reach 70 degrees.  Oh I know, those of you in the various US snow belts and in the path of the latest storm are scoffing at LA’s idea of cold weather.  Mind you, I’m not complaining about the cooler temps, just reveling in them.

Last Week This Week is a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

I added another Last to the title of this post as an acknowledgment that it’s a bit late in being published.  But better late than never because I’ve got the photos and that’s half of the challenge. My daily summaries are brief so this post is an easy read.

Monday

I’ve worn this outfit before but with different shoes.  These t-strap pumps are a gorgeous shade of blue and are a long-time favorite but they’re starting to get a little beat up.  The heels and the platform are patten-leather and have numerous nicks that I don’t think can be repaired.   Also, I’m not finding them as comfortable to wear as I used to so they may be headed to donation soon.

Tuesday

Next to jeans, my favorite outfit is one with a longer skirt and boots.  Perfect for a rainy day.

Wednesday

Another rainy day, and repeated outfit with boots.

Thursday

I first put this outfit together about two years ago and I was so pleased when Anne Bray posted a sketch of it on Instagram.  The outfit is the same but not the hair.

the sketch – “a study in long layer”

Friday

It was a full 5-day work week so ease of wear and comfort were my goals with this ensemble.

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week.  How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.

I’ve recently discovered how to create photo galleries in WordPress so I thought that I would close out this post with a side-by-side review of the OOTDs for this week.

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

I love Anne Bray’s interpretation of your layered styling Rena. Clearly, various forms of creative layering are key to cooler weather in all geographical locations.
Your boots and those stylings are some of my favorite looks on you!

  2. I bet it’s nice to have some cooler days…then you can pull out the “winter” items you don’t always get to wear. Heck, I like it here at the start of the winter…boots and sweaters. If we did move to a warmer climate, I’m not sure how I’d handle it. I’m sure I’d be fine, but ….
