Time struggles are real and can often be mentally paralyzing. Without enough time to do all that I want to do, I find myself doing not much of anything except procrastinating. Wouldn’t be better to re-evaluate and accomplish what is reasonable to do so? More reflections on this to come.
Last Week This Week is a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.
It was a four day week again because of Yom Kippur. However, with the holiday being on Wednesday, it felt kind of like I had two Mondays and two Fridays.
Monday
A colleague commented that my look of the day and especially my cardigan had a Parisian quality to it. I think it was just because I was trying out a new red lipstick which unfortunately does not show well in these photos.
Tuesday
I’d been straightening in my closet over the weekend and realized that hadn’t worn this black blazer in a while.
Thursday
Another day spent out of the office so these photos were taken after I got home.ย I’m not sure why I thought this cardigan would look good with a black tee but since I didn’t see anyone at my workplace, my fashion creds didn’t take much of a hit.
Friday
In a departure from my usual denim on Friday looks, this outfit harkens back to the color a combo I featured last year in Color My World: Loden & Teal.
And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week.ย How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.
I’m not fond of showing my photo bloopers but I thought this one wasn’t too embarrassingย and yet still a bit telling.ย Sometimes I have difficulty with my remote triggering my iPhone camera and here I caught in the act of asking it “what’s the deal?”.

That little pattern mix on Monday was genius cute! The peplum top beneath the jacket/ sweater seems to offer lots of “fleur on fleur” possibilities going forward! I also like the blue and white checked topper and the embroidered sweater. It must be so nice to still have so many warm days to look forward to.
I’m wondering how you weathered all of the fires in California this summer. I thought of you every time there was news coverage of the disastrous impact on so many Californian’s lives.
Your points about time, tasks and procrastination not only sound intriguing but relatable !
Lovely looks. Bright colours look good on you.
So many stylish looks for the office! I really like the very first one, with its bright colors and cute pattern mix.
Love these looks, especially that gingham cardigan. What I wear to work depends on the days activity and weather, and even with my best intentions, it’s usually a last minute decision.
You talk to your camera like I talk to mine…LOL!! Like it will reason with me??
And the first outfit is a great example of print mixing. I’ve been trying to challenge myself lately to do it more, and it’s been a great brain push!!
XOXO

Hi Rena! Nice to “see” you!
I want to do more pattern mixing this Fall, always a great time to experiment. Love the use of black and white with the black and floral cardi over top. You know I love florals. Pretty looks!
