You may or may not have seen me wearing this same jumpsuit in last week’s post. Ok fine, whatever … I was wearing it in that post but after those photos were taken, I started to think of other ways to style the jumpsuit and so it’s been carried over to this week.
The key thing about a jumpsuit with spaghetti straps is that it’s perfect as is for warm weather. With the school year starting up soon and Fall fashions beginning to fill the racks in stores, I was inspired to figure out how this jumpsuit could carry over into the next season. Once I’d started down that path, it wasn’t too much of a stretch for me to think about how I might wear it for all sorts of occasions.
Dressed Up For Work
In Up Down All-Around, I usually share my work look first so that’s what you see in this first set of photos. With the addition of a top worn on the outside, the jumpsuit transforms into wide-leg crops for which I’ve recently developed a fondness (see this post and this one). A white tunic blouse and a longer length knit vest are easy pieces that add a professional polish against the floral pattern. To finish it off, I chose my oxford style lace-up pumps that I’ve had for years and they make me feel invincible.
Jumpsuit – Old Navy, no longer available (similar look, another pretty option)
Tunic – J Jill, thrifted (similar look, option with pintuck bib)
Drape Front Vest – Banana Republic Factory Store, old (similar look, button front option)
Shoes – Nine West, old (similar look, option with block heel)
Dressed For Play
A basic look for play includes a tee and fashion athletic shoes … check, check. An outfit can become even more playful with a mash-up of patterns and with a simple color palette, it’s an easy look to achieve. Pairing up my striped tee was the first alternative styling for the jumpsuit that I thought of and then when these two-toned sneakers found their way into my closet, I knew I had a great outfit in the making.
Striped Tee – Apt 9, old (similar look, another option)
Fashion Sneakers – MIA, not available on-line (cute option, slip-on option)
Dressed For Fun
As you can see, I’ve stayed with mostly black and white for each of these looks but with this last one, I’m adding in another element, metallic shoes. I may or may not have expanded my already large footwear collection a bit in the last few weeks but I did mostly limit the adds to styles or colors that I didn’t already have with an eye toward more comfort. And they were all bargains so they were practically begging to come home with me.
Waffle Knit Top – Sonoma Goods For Life, old (similar look with bell sleeves, another option)
Metallic Loafers – Kenneth Cole Reaction, Marshall’s (similar look, another option)
Let’s Wrap This Up
Now, onto the Fine-Whatever link up for this week. My featured contributor from last week’s link-up is Patti from Not Dead Yet Style. A veteran blogger, this marvelous gal started her Visible Monday link-up in July 2011 as a way to celebrate our diverse beauty and love of style. Patti says that she came up with the idea of a “Visible Day” for bloggers, to encourage others to express their Joy of Being (Physically) Visible.
These “3 looks” posts are my favorite to do because I rarely buy something without thinking about the variety of ways and occasions I will wear it. Whether it’s an investment piece or a fast-fashion item, I think that personal style is about how you mix an item into your current wardrobe and adapt it to your lifestyle. There are more ideas for my railroad stripe jacket swirling in the gray matter so don’t be surprised if you see it again in another post sometime soon.
Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you. And don’t forget to add a post or two to the link up.

Rena—I think the first two outfits are especially out of the norm for me and so I appreciate them like you wouldn’t believe!!
The shirt & vest over the jumpsuit is something I wouldn’t really think to consider!
And the stripes with the print is just print mixing glouriousness!!!
XOXO

Thanks, Jodie. I appreciate your encouragements for my whacky ideas.
I really like how you changed up the look of the jumpsuit! Unless one REALLY pays attention, one will never know that it’s the same item. Well done!
Thanks for the link up & have a great week!
Some great style tips here Rena! And I love that last photo! xx

Rena, I am loving all 3 looks! The work one is fabulous proving the versatility of a jumpsuit! And I love the pattern mix with the striped tee layered under the jumpsuit. And once again, we have proven our likes so similar as I have the same or very close to the same metallic loafers! You are looking quite stunning, my friend, in all of these photos!

Oh yeah, Rena, you make this jumpsuit work in all the ways. Thanks for your kind words on my blog, XO
My first thought was “How do you go to the bathroom if you wear something OVER a jumpsuit” but then I saw that it converted into wide leg pants. That’s better! That’s great that you got so many different looks out of it!
Super cute & I love those metallic loafers!

All three looks are great, my favourite is the office one, very chic. My approach to close is similar to yours, Rena, I want it to be functional and versatile

I love all three of these looks Rena! This clearly illustrates how very versatile any jumpsuit can be! The stipes and print are great! I’ve purchased some wide leg stiped pants and combined them with floral tops and i really love that particular mix a lot.
Would you consider a larger black and white floal top/blouse/jacket over the jumpsuit? Could be fun!
I love your jumpsuit and love how versatile you have made me see they can be! Great post! Peace!
