Boho is back (did it really even go away?) and I couldn’t be happier. If it’s flowery, flowy, and flouncy, I’ve been wearing most of my life. There was an off-the-shoulder peasant blouse with prairie style skirt that I wore to a dance in high school and there were the floral midi-length skirts and vests that I wore in college. I’m all over it anything that’s crocheted, embroidered, or gauzy.
I found this fabulous skirt at a local Goodwill. The mix of patterns and colors, as well as the swirl of the fabric pieces, made it a ‘must buy’. Well, that and all clothing that day was $3. Who could pass on a bargain like that? Not me.
The weight of the fabric and the darker colors make this skirt one that I can wear all year long. In warmer weather, I can pair it with a light sweater and sandals like I’ve done in this post or in cooler weather I could wear it with boots and a chunky sweater.
Playing upon the boho theme, I chose a gauzy linen weave top with a crocheted lacy trim at the neckline, a mixed metal coin necklace, and a loose fitting long cardigan is a deep plum color.
My choice of footwear might be a bit on the glam side but the Birkenstock style sandal fits with boho so I think it works. These beauties were a recent on clearance find at DSW and I just couldn’t say no.
The best thing about boho is that it’s all about individuality and it can compliment anyone, no matter their size or age. It’s like the shabby chic of fashion which makes it perfect for thrifters and DIYers.
Now, onto the Powers The Flower link up. My featured contributor from last week’s link up is Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine. The colors of her skirt are gorgeous and I love that she paired it with a denim shirt and a statement necklace.
One last item. Today is my baby girl’s 21st birthday. She is one of my favorite people and I’m a truly blessed to have her in my life.
