With May shortly coming to a close, this is my monthly review of some recent thrift store finds and a few OOTDs that were shared on Instagram but not featured in a blog post.

There were a couple of visits to a few local area thrift stores this month that netted me some really great finds. As per usual, several of these items I’ll be posting on Poshmark. And of course, there are a few items that I’m keeping for myself. One of those items is the light gray denim jacket by Chico’s that I’m wearing in these photos which cost me all of $6.

Continuing with this month’s sub-theme of “May flowers”, I’ve paired up this jacket with a floral blouse I thrifted in March and shared on the blog in Recycle-Reclaim-Reuse: Overalls Overhaul. My black jeans were also a thrift store find but from a couple of years ago and rounding out the look are my newer yellow cork-wedge sandals.

The rest of my thrift store finds for the month include an assortment of jackets, a couple of dresses and skirts, a pair of cropped pants, and a super cute button-down top. This first set of items are the ones that I’ll be listing to sell on Poshmark. Both the camel blazer and the gingham top are by J Crew. The gray dress is brand new (tags attached) which I got for about $1, and get a load of the sparkly skirt. I do wish it was my size.

Although I’m not fully set on selling the mustard jacket. The black sweatshirt hood and insert along the front create a layered look that I think gives it kind of a street-wear vibe. It was a $2.95 bargain but mistakenly on a women’s rack as it is a men’s jacket. Since it’s a size XS, I think I can offer it as an S/M woman’s equivalent. The fit on me is a little snug but I’m going to see how it fits my daughter before any final decision is made. As for the items that I’m definitely keeping, see the photos below. They include a patterned dress that I’m saving for the Fall, a zebra-like striped jacket, pinstriped crops, and a floral print skirt.

The following OOTDs are a few of the non-blogged looks from this past month that were posted on Instagram. Thrifted items in these outfits include the floral print pants in the center look and the jeans from the look on the right.

And that nearly puts a wrap on May. What have you found recently while thrift store shopping? What trends/aesthetics are you currently keen on?

Be well and let’s stay in touch! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, pin … all options are available. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I really like the lighter denim color for this jacket and I’ve been wanting to get some yellow sandals… works perfect with that floral top!

Carrie, funny thing about my yellow sandals is that I didn’t know how much I needed them until I came across them in the store. I’d hope to find a pair like them in orange but the yellow has worked out so much better in my wardrobe.

  2. That denim jacket is lovely on you and I really like the floral top with it too. $6 for a jacket is a great find! I haven’t been thrifting as much as I’d like, I really need to try get back to it again!

Hope you are having a nice week 🙂

Oh wow, so many great thrifted finds, Rena! I just scored big with my 25% off birthday coupon at my favorite thrift store. I actually focused on men’s button downs and found 7 in the most wonderful bright vibrant colors. I paid $1.50 for a few of them and the rest were $3.75. I love to wear them as loungewear or jammies and they are Jeff’s size so if he ever needs one, he can wear them, too! I do love my thrift shop adventures!

Shelbee, it is easy to go a bit overboard when the prices are so low. But the hunt goes on.

Loving that denim jacket and the zebra print jacket and that pretty skirt you are keeping. I really love seeing what others discover thrifting as we all have different tastes and things that draw our eyes. I love coming home with something surprising. I probably wait till fall before going back though as I really don’t need anything and have more than enough to wear in my closet.

I’m so envious of your fabulous thrift stores! Over here, they tend to be a little bit, well, dismal really! You look great. I love you yellow wedge sandals!

Suzy, some of our thrift stores are a bit dismal too. Fortunately, there are a lot in my area and sometimes it’s hit or miss depending on the day or season.
