You’d think that having a standard for these weekly blog posts would make it easier to get them done and published as planned. But I’m often stumped for the additive part of the title and then I don’t know what to write for this introduction and then the week goes by and then … nothing. No post. So as I was contemplating the dilemma of being stumped for this week’s post, I had an “ah ha” moment.

Last Week This Week is a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

The first of these LWTW posts was published almost exactly two years ago and while the format has been restylized a little since their purpose and my motivation for them remain the same. I will admit though that I am at times a bit stumped as to what I should wear as I stare into my closet each morning.

Monday

Holiday, no work, no outfit photos, no apologies.

Tuesday

To be honest, after seeing these photos I’m going to call this outfit a miss. There’s nothing truly awful about it and I’m thinking that maybe it’s the pants I don’t like. The jacket is also not living up to my expectations.

Wednesday

In a continual effort of reassessing my wardrobe and identifying items to cull, I chose to wear these block-heel mules that I’ve not worn much at all. I like the style but lately, I’ve been finding myself avoiding shoes with this heel height. Overall the shoes were acceptably comfortable by the end of the day except for where they rubbed on the top of my big toes. Moleskin may fix that or they may find their way to my Poshmark closet. Only time will tell. Size 9, gently worn … anyone interested?

Thursday

Same thrifted jacket shown in my Wednesday look in the last LWTW post. The colors in my top are very similar to those in the jacket and I’m wearing a pair of wide-leg trousers. All very comfortable and easy to wear.

Friday

I was so pleased with this look that I decided that it needed to be featured in a separate post as well which you can see here. However, unlike in those photos, here I’m wearing it with my recently purchased long cardigan.

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week.ย  How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.

You know the phrase “here today, gone tomorrow”? Well, there’s an end of the road coming for LWTW. I’ll be retiring in April 2020 so I’ve only got another 30 or so weeks left to reflect back on what I wore to work. In that light, here are a few of the OOTDs I’ve worn this past summer that would have been in previous LWTW posts if they had been published.
