In this week’s Wednesday’s Whatevers, I shared three posts of how I’ve worn this favorite floral sweater in past seasons and I will now round out the year by showing in Summer. This look is definitely the most casual of the four and highlights the versatility of this sweater. As a reminder of the previous looks, this favorite floral sweater has been worn in A Daytime Wedding In The Fall, A Wedding In Winter, and Pearls For The Theatre, so I’ve given it a chance to relax and just enjoy a lovely afternoon strolling around in Santa Monica.

The Husband and I had driven to Santa Monica this day to escape the heat of our much more inland neighborhood (and find a location for photos). Rather than the freeway, we took the scenic route through Topanga Canyon which affords you with a wonderful first look at the ocean. I always get a thrill from that first look.

If you are familiar with Santa Monica, then you know that there is a bluff top park along Ocean Avenue from where you can look out over Pacific Coast Highway, the beach, and the pier. On a clear day, like it was on this day, you can see for miles in both directions up and down the coast.

To enjoy this beautiful ocean view, I opted to pair this favorite floral cardigan with a denim skirt and simple navy tank. The cardigan was a quasi-birthday present to myself last October courtesy of Ann Taylor Outlet and my birthday reward from the Ann Taylor credit card.  The skirt is from Macy’s Charter Club and the tank I got from JCP. This matchup is similar to the look in Pearls For The Theatre where I wore the sweater with slightly distressed jeans and dark blue tank. In all three of the previous of the looks for this sweater, I’ve worn pearls and I did so again in this look for summer.

Lastly, here’s a close-up on the sandals. I bought these about a month ago because they were on sale (duh), I already had the same in black (see me wearing them in this post) so I knew they were comfortable, and I was inspired by a recent series that Jodie at Jodie’s Touch of Style did on silver shoes. I could’ve opted for a pair of wedge sandals (I have a few) but went with flats for comfort while walking around and strolling through the shops in the 3rd Street Promenade.

I’ve taken the liberty of gathering a few suggestions if you are looking for any of the items in this outfit.

Let’s Wrap This Up

Now, onto the Fine-Whatever link up for this week. My featured contributor from last week’s Color My World themed link-up is Anna from Looking Fabulous @ 50. Anna is a new contributor to the link up and I love her take on styling a military jacket that she snagged from her teenage daughter.

Do you have favorites in your wardrobe? Are items you can and do wear all year long? And lastly, how real for you is the style you share on your blog?

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin, stumble … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you. And don’t forget to add a post or two to the link up.

you’re not fickle. you just have a well-curated closet. thanks for stopping by.

I definitely love everything in my closet and each item seems to have its own special story! I love your floral sweater, too! I remember your theatre look and I like that equally as well. And those floral sweaters you linked are gorgeous, too! I have a very pretty floral cardigan from Kohl’s that I purchased last year and I never thought to pair it with jeans, I usually dress it up. But I love the contrast of the dainty floral with denim. So that will be my next try with it! Have a fabulous week!
