Well, I’m almost at the halfway mark of this challenge and still going strong. Last week I posted on Days 1 thru 7. Days 8, 10, and 13 had me in footwear that I hadn’t worn in quite a while so this challenge has been successful in that aspect. In the last two weeks I’ve made an attempt to wear more of my rain ‘unfriendly’ footwear so that I’m not caught short later in the month if the weather turns really wet. This means I’ve been wearing more suede and shoes as opposed to boots than I normally would. Now onto a review of the last seven days.
These shoes are an old favorite that I haven’t worn recently but I did feature them in my first post. I like the pop of color they add to my outfit.
I like the look of boots with pants but I don’t like wearing pants over tall boots so booties are the solution for me. This pair has a half open/half closed zipper like detail along the outer side that I think makes them look a bit edgy while the narrow heel and pointed toe keep them work appropriate.
I hadn’t worn these boots in a couple of years because I have another similar pair of newer black boots that have been my usual choice recently which is a shame because the newer ones will last longer if I trade-off with these.
I went back to the store to buy this pair after the first time I wore the gray pair that I showed for Day 6. I spent most of my recent vacation in these shoes and they were very comfortable. The strap closure is velcro so they are easy to put on and take off. Did you notice the Hanukkah socks? That’s another item I have a lot of … 15 pairs to be exact.
And yet another pair of boots. I have a fondness for mid-calf height boots and I prefer them over ankle booties if I am going to show some leg, even if the leg is encased in skinny jeans. Although they were inexpensive, I think that the nubuck texture of the outer material and the buckles make them look pricier than they were.
Another pair of shoes that I haven’t worn in a really long time and for no specific reason. I normally wouldn’t wear socks with them (and my daughter cautioned me that I was looking a bit “old lady” because of them) but the family was coming to our place to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah so I wore them for the added festive feel. The blue beads on my necklace are battery-powered lights that blink or flash depending on the setting.
These boots are a new favorite of mine so I’m sad that I will only be wearing them one time this month. The super comfy insole and two-inch heel make them a dream to wear all day. I love the added style that the contrasting fabric and detail on the shaft give to an outfit whether it’s for work or for leisure, as seen in this year’s Halloween outfit.
I hope that you have enjoyed this wrap-up of the second seven days of my self-imposed 31-day footwear challenge and that you will come back again next week to see days 15 thru 21. The weather forecast is showing clear skies and there are a couple of parties on our social calendar this coming weekend so I’m looking forward to the chance to wear some special occasion shoes this week. Be well.

I’m glad you like them.. I’ve had them a long while and I like the accent of color they give to an outfit.
