When I started writing this post late last week, my intention had been to clear away a few obstacles. The definition of obstacle is “a thing that blocks one’s way or prevents or hinders progress”. In my experience, the source of obstacles in one’s life can be both real and imaginary, both physical and psychological. This missive was to be my way of getting back to publishing blog posts after an unexpected break.

This series, Last Week This Week, started as a Monday thru Friday look back at what I’d worn to work in the past week. With that part of my life soon ending, these posts have expanded to a full Sunday thru Saturday chronically, something like a diary. As such, for each day there is a brief description of my outfit or the photo as well as a detail or two about what happened.

That was before the demonstrations and protests over the killings of George, Ahmaud, Breonna, and so many others began to dominate the news cycle. How trivial are my “obstacles” to getting a post written in comparison to the decades of injustices and senseless acts of racisms faced by communities of color? What sympathies would I deserve about the lack of inspiration or motivation I felt while comfortably maintaining a safe social distance from dangers lurking in society?

There are greater obstacles that need my attention, our attention. For now, I’m going to let go of those that were stopping me from sharing my thoughts. I’ll be posting again with more regularity and LWTW will be back on track next week.

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
